An ideal signal has no phase noise, harmonics nor spurious frequency components associated with it.
Unfortunately the ideal signal does not exist in the real world, and these factors degrade the spectral
purity of all real world signals to some degree. High‐performance microwave signal generators are
designed to maximize spectral purity, with very low levels of phase noise, harmonics and spurs, while
maintaining general purpose flexibility. The levels of spectral purity performance are one of the key
differences between high‐performance, mid‐range and low‐end or entry‐level signal generators. This

Skyworks Solutions has introduced its first set of discrete silicon-on-insulator, single-pole, triple-throw switches for the wireless networking market.  The SKY13345-368LF and SKY13385-460LF’s low insertion loss make the devices ideal for WLAN (802.11 b/g) and Bluetooth® applications in the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz frequency range.  Skyworks’ switches are designed for compatibility with chipsets that maintain linearity at 1.8 V logic - - - one of the most popular architectures for smartphones with embedded WLAN connectivity given the low current requirements.
 
The switches come in a compact, quad flat no-lead (QFN) 2 x 2 mm package.
